PAIR uses Copilot Basic and Copilot Premium as broad categories to tailor your course. These are PAIR categories rather than exact Microsoft product names, and they apply whether you use a personal account or an account provided by your employer or education provider.
Copilot Basic
Choose Copilot Basic if you use Copilot Chat or another free or included version of Copilot.
These versions generally provide access to web information and files you upload. Available features may depend on your account and subscription.
Copilot Premium
Choose Copilot Premium if you have a paid or licensed Copilot experience with expanded Microsoft 365 features.
With an eligible work or education account, this may include access to organisational emails, meetings, chats and files that you already have permission to view. Personal premium plans may provide a different set of features.
How to choose in PAIR
- Sign in to Copilot using the account you intend to use during your course.
- Check the plan or licence shown in your Microsoft account:
- If it says Copilot Chat, Basic, Free or indicates included access, choose Copilot Basic.
- If it says Microsoft 365 Copilot, Premium or indicates an expanded paid licence, choose Copilot Premium.
- If Select AI Provider appears in the PAIR Hub, update your selection.
If you are unsure:
- For a workplace or education account, contact your Microsoft 365 administrator.
- For a personal account, check your Microsoft subscription or contact Microsoft Support.
PAIR cannot assign, purchase or change your Microsoft licence.
